Those placing an iPad pre-order in the US can now expect to receive their unit on April 12th, rather than on launch day on April 3rd.
That's according to the dates published on the iPad section of Apple's official US website, The Unofficial Apple Weblog reporting that those who placed their pre-orders before March 27th can still expect to receive their unit on April 3rd.
The suggestion is that Apple has completely sold out of all of its original wi-fi stock, 3G models now also listed with a shipping date of "late April".
The news comes as the latest estimates from the AAPL Sanity Board (specifically, board member Daniel Tello) suggest cumulative iPad pre-orders hit 240,000 in its second week.
Tello has told CNNMoney.com that iPad could well hit 300,000 units pre-ordered by launch day, although "the conservative in me," he said, "would bet under. About 280,000 would be my safe prediction".
