Ad optimisation firm Smaato has announced a new version of its iSOMA SDK to include support for iPad apps and mobile websites.
Smaato claims the iPad SDK is designed to take into account the device's multiple uses.
As a result, the company has smartly positioned iSOMA so it can produce ads that work with the new formats offered through Apple's newly announced advertising platform iAd.
Format rich
The SDK will also support new ad formats such as the Internet Advertising Bureaus Universal Ad Package (UAP).
Those used by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), including new rich media banner formats that are emerging from Smaato's 36 ad network partners, are on board too.
"There's a lot of excitement in the mobile publishing market about the iPad and new features in the upcoming iPhone OS 4.0 release," said Smaato CEO and founder Ragnar Kruse.
"We are happy to continue our support for the iPhone platform and the iPad as the new addition to mobile device choices."
Happy camp
Co-operation with the new tentpoles of iPhone 4.0 OS continues in the form of options to make use of multitasking and background functions.
As such, Smaato claims the fact that users won't be disconnected from apps when they click on ads each staying open in the background will allow the SDK to match the features Apple has trumpeted in iAd.
Those who utilise the iPad SDK will also gain access to Smaato's Advanced Mobile Analytics tools that the firm claims will enable publishers to optimise their iPad inventory and maximise user experience.
Those looking to download iSOMA for iPad can do so for free by registering on Smaato's portal.
