Gameloft fires up for consoles with PS3 shooter Modern Combat: Domination
Having previously extended itself on WiiWare, DSiWare, internet-enabled TVs, set top boxes, even Verizon's new 4G LTE network, Gameloft has finally bitten the golden bullet to release a PlayStation 3 game.

Of course, it's technically done this before with the PSP Minis releases of iPhone titles such as N.O.V.A., but Modern Combat: Domination is somewhat different.

It's a proper, native PlayStation 3 title that will be available for download on the PlayStation Network on January 19.

Playing with the big boys

Building on what the first two iOS Modern Combat games have delivered, Domination is a team multiplayer online shooter in the style of Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Supporting the PlayStation Move controller, the game features 16-player battles, five maps, six modes, including team deathmatch and domination, and a 72 level experience-based ranking system. It will retail for €8.
