Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster has predicted Apple will reveal iPad sales have more than doubled year-on-year in its latest earnings report, set to be delivered by CEO Tim Cook on 24 April.
According to the latest predictions by Munster, Apple sold 33 million iPhones in Q2 2012.
Such a figure would represent a significant jump from the 18.65 million the company declared during the same quarter the previous year.
Up and down
Likewise, iPad sales will also have jumped to 12 million units, up from 4.69 million in Q2 2011.
Nevertheless, despite such a rise, Munster's figures still come in below Wall Street's general forecast of 13 million units sold.
That's an apparent dip that doesn't worry Munster at all, who notes investors will let Apple off the hook because of the device's record start.
"We note that wait-times on Apple's online store remain at 1-2 weeks for all versions of the iPad, suggesting that healthy demand remains," he added.
