One part of the Nordic Game 2012 conference in Malmo last week was its Live Pitching Session.
Organised by Games Capital and backed with a 10,000 investment from the Nordic Game Fund, it saw six developers pitching their concepts in front of judges including ex-Dragon Doug Richard, and game investors Thomas Bidaux (ICO Partners), Kwasi Asare (Fighter Interactive), and Marko Tulonen (Vision+ Fund).
Building the future
The competition was fierce but the winner was Swedish start up Boldai.
As the name suggests, it's based on high-end artificial intelligence research that resulted in the Unity visual programming plug-in Brain Builder.
However, its more interesting product for consumers is Blocksworld, what the company labels the digital Lego that lets everyone create interactive objects and worlds.
This happens simply as you drag and drop blocks to create larger objects, adding joints and motors which allow you animate and move the objects with touchscreen and other haptic controls.
You can then customise your objects with colours and decals, uploading, sharing and remixing them with the online community.
Currently in early beta testing, Blocksworld will be coming to iOS, Android and web during the summer.
