Best Fiends developer Seriously receives $5 million funding boost

Seriously, the studio behind the iOS puzzler Best Fiends, has announced $5 million in additional funding has been raised from its existing Seed Round investors.

The news, which comes before the firm prepares to commence a Series A funding round in the new year, means Seriously has raised $10 million during 2014.

The new funds will provide the perfect springboard for Seriously as it looks to take 2015 by storm with the release of the second title in the Best Fiends trilogy.

Old friends

Andrew Stalbow, CEO of Seriously, and Petri Järvilehto, the firm's COO, have explained the additional cash will give the studio even more room to flex its creative muscles.

“We’ve been thrilled with the reaction to our first title,” said Stalbow.

“The additional funding gives us extra firepower to extend our talented team of 13 people as we take our strategy of creating global entertainment brands ‘mobile first’ to a new level.”

“This is only the beginning," added Järvilehto.

"We’re working hard to take Best Fiends to the next level over the coming months, and we can’t wait to share our new features, content, game play, characters, as well as a few more surprises."

What do you call someone who has an unhealthy obsession with video games and Sean Bean? That'd be a 'Chris Kerr'. Chris is one of those deluded souls who actually believes that one day Sean Bean will survive a movie. Poor guy.
