Samsung is being sued after a man in Florida alleged he suffered second-degree burns when his Galaxy Note 7 exploded in his pocket.
He is suing for an undisclosed amount to cover medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other injuries.
The man claimed he received a burn to his leg where the phone exploded and a burn to his thumb when trying to pull the phone out of his pocket.
Turn it off
The incident occurred on 9 September, seven days after Samsung had announced its replacement program for the faulty phone.
Samsung has urged people to take part in the program once again on 12 September, after many major international airlines banned the phone from their flights following safety concerns.
The mobile company declined to comment specifically on the lawsuit, but said: "We are urging all Note 7 owners to power their device down and exchange it immediately".
