Frankfurt-based developer Crytek are set to cut 15 jobs at its headquarters as it continues to suffer financial difficulties.
Staff from the in-house publishing and marketing departments will be affected by the cuts. The company has promised "comprehensive support" to those affected.
The job losses come about as Crytek continues to scale down its business. Frankfurt is one of only two studios along with Crytek's Kiev location that will not be shut down or sold off as part of the scaling.
Scale it back
"Unfortunately, one of the inevitable effects of this process has been the redundancies we are announcing today," Crytek co-founder and managing director Avni Yerli told Eurogamer.
"We are extremely grateful for the hard work and dedication of each and every person at Crytek, and the team members we now have to say goodbye to will receive comprehensive support that reflect that gratitude."
What form this comprehensive support will take is another issue. Reports and rumours surrounding Crytek suggest that its staff have gone unpaid for months.
