Seriously will release a new animated short based on its Best Fiends franchise in May 2017.
The developer is currently teasing the new animation across its social media platforms. It promises viewers will "see all of your favourite Best Fiends characters go through 'Boot Camp' in gorgeous movie-quality animation".
Further details are thin on the ground. Seriously has released just one teaser image for the upcoming animation, and dodged a question on its Facebook page about whether it would be a 2D or 3D animation.
Animated
It is not the first mobile developer to turn its franchise into a cartoon. Rovio first launched its Angry Birds cartoon series back in March 2013 on TV and through its games.
Supercell has also recently got in on the venture with its Clash-O-Rama series on YouTube. It racked up over 50 million views in just two weeks after the first episode was aired.
Best Fiends: Boot Camp may be a way for Seriously to lead in to its third and final Best Fiends game, Best Fiends Slugs. The title was soft-launched in November 2016 and subsequently pulled from app stores, as Seriously did when soft-launching Best Fiends Forever.
