Mobile games firm Cellufun has announced its first carrier deal, with US operator MetroPCS Communications.
MetroPCS will be distributing Cellufun's stable of free games on its portal, including Space Wars and Call of the Pharoah.
Until now, Cellufun has mainly focused on building its own distribution channel, although it's also signed deals with Playphone and AOL this year. The company says its mobile gaming community currently attracts five million unique users a month.
MetroPCS isn't one of the bigger US operators, but it has 4.6 million customers.
"MetroPCS has already proven itself to be very much in tune with the
needs of its customers, who are asking for more services based on
social interaction with other subscribers," says Cellufun CEO Arthur Goikhman.
"This makes them a perfect fit for our first venture into the on-deck world, since our portal is focused on community-driven gaming."
