Pitched as a meeting of minds, German online games giant Bigpoint has signed a deal to deliver free-to-play zoo simulator ZooMumba to Spil Games' roster of social gaming platforms.
The deal will hand Bigpoint access to Spil Games' 130 million unique monthly visitors, and will be followed by the launch of further Bigpoint releases.
Spil's social gaming platforms currently cater for up to 19 languages, with a specific focus on female players.
Making a Bigpoint
"This global collaboration will bring one of Bigpoint's best social games to the largest and most effectively targeted community of like-minded social gamers available today," said Spil Games CEO Peter Driessen.
"This is a real meeting of minds I've long admired Bigpoint's innovation within the browser-based gaming world, and I'm delighted to welcome them to Spil's expanding social gaming platforms."
"Spils audience of like-minded gamers is unique in the industry," said Heiko Hubertz, CEO of Bigpoint.
"Plus, their global reach, localised approach and easy-to-use API will bring us scalability in efficiently rolling out our games in multiple languages, as well as leveraging Spils social features
Web to mobile
Though the deal is limited to Spil's web-based platforms, both parties have increased their operations on mobile of late.
At the start of 2011, Bigpoint lifted the lid on its intention to capitalise on the appetite for in-app purchases by launching titles across iOS and Android, while Spil Games has been a notable advocate of HTML5, launching a series of competitions designed to promote games development using the technology.
