Mobile user acquisition platform Fiksu has announced version 2.0 of its SDK.
Designed to ease confusion for its clients in terms of providing a road map for future user tracking, it supports what the company calls "the broadest range of marketing attribution technologies".
In actual terms, this means that while UDIDs and MAC Addresses are available as options, Fiksu is also providing support for OpenUDID, digital fingerprinting technology, and HTML cookie tracking.
Doing it all
"The current state of fragmentation across the iOS ecosystem has made finding the right balance of marketing attribution - while ensuring sufficient market reach - incredibly challenging for mobile marketers," said Fiksu's VP of client services Craig Palli.
As the company points out, at present, more than 90 percent of iOS traffic still uses UDIDs, which remains the single most cost-effective way to obtain large volumes of downloads and large numbers of loyal users.
Helping in the transition to a UDID-free ecosystem is where Palli expects Fiksu's SDK Version 2.0 gain users.
"By supporting a variety of technology alternatives, it eliminates the need for difficult decisions and trade-offs," he added.
