Atari has partnered with mobile advertising firm Tapjoy to bring rewarded ads to its recently-released Rollercoaster Tycoon Touch for the first time.
Players can earn in-game coins from watching or interacting with one of the rewarded ads provided by Tapjoy. These ads will also be rolled out to two other Atari titles, Goon Squad and Lunar Battle, in the coming months.
Atari also revealed that its game had surpassed seven million downloads since launching in February 2017. It has also seen over 125 million sessions played in this time.
Beloved brand
"Atari is one of the most recognizable and beloved brands in all of gaming, and we are honoured that the company chose us as one of their first ad partners for rewarded ads," said Ben Chen, Tapjoy’s SVP & GM, Developer Relations.
"Gamers love rewarded advertising because it lets them do more and engage deeper within their favourite mobile games without having to pay. Our mission is to leverage the power of rewarded ads so that publishers such as Atari can monetize their apps effectively while giving their users a first-rate gaming experience."
Rollercoaster Tycoon Touch had surpassed 6.5 million downloads in May 2017, three months after first launching. Atari revealed the figure as it renewed its license of the franchise into 2022.
