Lithuania-based mobile games developer Game Insight is developing a new eSports-focused mode for its popular real-time competitive shooter Guns of Boom.
The new "PRO Play" mode is being developed with teams such as SK Gaming and NaVi aiding in the design. This mode will focus on balancing weapons, armour, and health so that players must rely purely on skill to win.
Guns of Boom has also surpassed 20 million downloads just six months after it first launched. It is currently featured in the App Store’s Best of 2017 lists as part of the real-time competition category.
Blown away
"Like an enemy that's at the wrong end of a player's scope, we've been blown away by the reception to Guns of Boom," said Game Insight CEO Anatoly Ropotov.
"The game has developed a huge and passionate community with over 150,000 videos uploaded to YouTube in its first six months, and it's only getting bigger."
Guns of Boom is also nominated for the Game of the Year award in our upcoming Mobile Game Awards. It cleared 10 million downloads in July 2017, two months after it first launched.
