Hearthstone director's Second Dinner snags $30m from NetEase and secures Marvel licence agreement

Former Hearthstone director Ben Brode (pictured, main) has secured a major licensing agreement with Marvel for his new studio Second Dinner's first title.

The company has picked up $30 million investment from publisher NetEase to help grow the start-up and develop its debut game too.

Marvellous

Brode revealed the formation of Second Dinner back in July, founded with a number of fellow Hearthstone veterans after he ended a 15-year stint at Blizzard in April. The company has now been working on its first title for around six months.

In a YouTube video, Brode and the team kicked off a number off the big announcements with a move to a new office space.
