Sony’s big hitter Fate/Grand Order, which is actually part of its Music segment, is still doing the business as it drove up sales for the division by 18.8% to $1.53 billion in the three months ending June 30th 2017.
While Recorded Music sales have increased, Sony noted that it was the strong performance of Fate/Grand Order that’s helped propel the division’s revenues. Operating income for the segment rose to $227 million.
Overall revenues for Sony in Q1 2017 increased to $16.6 billion, while operating income grew an impressive 180.5% to $1.4 billion.
Driving downloads
Sony Forwardworks’ Everybody’s Golf meanwhile has accumulated more than two million downloads in less than a month following its launch on July 4th.
The title is the first release from Sony’s new mobile games division, which it’s set to follow up with quirky new title Sora to Umi no Aida in October 2017.
Though noted in Sony’s latest financials for the three months ending June 30th 2017, given the timing of its release date the title had no impact on that quarter.
