The Rovio revival continues with the appointment of Fox International Channels’ former head of sales, Alex Lambeek as its new chief commercial officer.
Currently based on Singapore, Rovio is seeking to leverage Lambeek's experience in Asian markets as it attempts to expand its reach and embark on a “number of transformational projects.”
At Fox, Lambeek handled sales on TV channels including Fox Sports and National Geographic for Asia Pacific and more recently advised private equity funded start-up Sportkix.
Prior to this, he was the CEO of Indonesian PayTV operator Aora, and also worked for BlackBerry in China.
"I am truly excited to be joining a company that has such great ambition and reach across the globe," Lambeek added.
"Everyone has heard of Angry Birds and the aim now is to cement Rovio as the world's number one entertainment company with games at its heart."
