Tencent’s Perfect World was the top grossing mobile game globally in March 2019

Tencent’s Perfect World was the top grossing mobile game worldwide in March 2019, according to SuperData Research.

Following this in second was the Chinese publisher’s other big earner Honor of Kings before King’s Candy Crush Saga claimed bronze in third place.

Niantic’s Pokemon Go and Supercell’s Clash of Clans rounded out the top five for total player spending before Fate/Grand Order by Delightworks and Fantasy Westward Journey from NetEase trailed in sixth and seventh respectively.

Grabbing the final few positions were Playrix’s Homescapes at eighth, while Mafia City from Yotta Games made a surprise appearance at ninth before Mixi’s Monster Strike snuck in to make up the top 10.

From the games listed, six come from Asian companies while three came from Europe and one from North America.

Consumer spending down

Digital consumer spending across mobile, console and PC as a whole was down three per cent for the month when compared to the previous year. Mobile revenue made up 56 per cent of the total player spending for March, however it fell by two per cent year-on-year.
