Market research firm Newzoo has joined forces with Chinese market intelligence provider TalkingData .
The new partnership will see both firms work together to develop and market new services, including a monthly report on insights into the Chinese mobile market.
According to Newzoo’s latest global games market forecasts, China will become the largest mobile games market in the world in 2015 with $6.5 billion in revenues.
This would be a large increase on the c. $4 billion market estimated in 2014.
“During several meetings with the TalkingData management and founders, we realized that our companies not only share the ambition to be global leaders in our respective fields of big data, analytics and market intelligence, but are also very complementary in multiple ways,” said Newzoo’s CEO Peter Warman.
“From that it was a small step to turn our common vision into a common goal.”
In tandem with the news, Newzoo is today also releasing a new whitebook alongside GMGC with the support of TalkingData.
Titled the 2015 Global Mobile Game Industry Whitebook, the 21 page drills down into key industry trends and provides an analysis of the Chinese and SEA markets.
It predicts that the mobile games market will generate worldwide over $40 billion by 2017, and will account for one third of the global games industry by the end of 2015 at $30.1 billion.
