Netmarble's Lineage 2: Revolution surpasses $176 million in revenues in its first month

Netmarble's Lineage 2: Revolution has generated revenues of $176.6 million (₩206.5 billion) in its first month of release.

The game was expected to generate $84.8 million (₩100 billion) but has almost doubled this figure. It is currently only available in South Korea.

Netmarble also believes Lineage 2: Revolution crossed the $100 million mark in 18 days after first launching. In comparison, Pokemon GO achieved this after 20 days of launch in multiple countries.

Growing fast

This revenue has been generated by over five million players. It has also seen DAUs of 2.15 million and a peak concurrent player count of 740,000.

Lineage IP owner NCsoft filed a lawsuit against Netmarble in November 2016 for infringing on the IP with its game Aden. Aden developer ITS Games had been hit with the lawsuit in August 2016, before Netmarble acquired it in October 2016.

Netmarble recently acquired Kabam's Vancouver studio, responsible for perennial hit Marvel: Contest of Champions. It is actively seeking further acquisitions in the future.
