Demonstrating the power of going Android and crossplatform, Spacetime Studios' MMOG Pocket Legends has come out of beta and added 125,000 new players in a single week.
That bring the download total to over one million.
Of course, the fact that it's a freemium game makes it particularly well suited to the Android Market. Hardware-wise, it requires Android owners to be running the 2.1 version of the OS and be packing an OpenGL ES 1.1 GPU.
Plays nice together
Still, what's really nice about taking Pocket Legends crossplatform is that Android and iOS players can now join up in real-time on the same server to explore the game; something that's also vital for viral promotion.
The move is also part of a more strategic development at Spacetime, which received investment in October to port the game's underlying engine to Android and PC.
It hopes to make Spacetime Engine available for thirdparty licensing sometime during 2011.
