//Addition: Following an email to GameDoctors about the situation, we've received a 'no comment' from Zynga's PR.
It seems that German developer GameDoctors has been acquired by Zynga.
As spotted by Inside Social Apps, its only games, the ZombieSmash franchise (including a #2 top grossing game on the US App Store in 2010), are now listed as being published by the social gaming giant on iTunes.
However, within the games themselves, there's no mention of Zynga. They're still showing the GameDoctors' splash screen and credits, suggesting this is more than a publishing deal.
As part of its S-1 IPO filing, Zynga mentioned it had acquired two companies in late 2011 for a total price of $4.9 million, so the assumption is that GameDoctors was one of these.
Nothing is yet listed on its website, however.
Signed up for greatness
Talking to MD Matthias Höchsmann back in April 2011, he told PocketGamer.biz the company was focused on becoming a "quality casual games label".
"In essence, all of our games are casual titles that can also entertain and engage hardcore gamers," he added. "We have some crazy stuff in the making and I can't wait to spill the news, but have to keep my mouth shut for now."
The company also had plans to release its games on Android and Windows Phone, although to-date, ZombieSmash is only available for iOS.
