The Lumia 800 - billed as the answer to Nokia and Microsoft's current problems - has only just been released and, despite favourable reviews, analysts are having a hard time predicting its sales figures.
Some have downgraded their original estimates. Deutsche Bank, however, has reiterated that it expects the device to sell 2 million units by the end of 2012.
Best in history
Nokia shares had fallen by almost 9 percent last week after predictions from Bernstein Research analyst Pierre Ferragu setting the potential sales figure at around 500,000 units, half of the initially expected figure.
These figures have been dismissed, not only by Deutsche Bank but also by Nokia.
"Based on earliest data, the sales start of the Lumia 800 is the best ever first week of Nokia smartphone sales in the UK in recent history," Nokia spokesman Doug Dawson said in an e-mail to Bloomberg.
