Nintendos Wii console is beckoning for Polish mobile games developer Gamelion, as it becomes the latest mobile game maker to investigate Nintendos WiiWare online marketplace as a new source of revenue against a backdrop of growing disquiet with the performance of Java platforms.
Other mobile game developers whove already explored console publishing include Gameloft, which has enjoyed runaway success with its first WiiWare output and recently confirmed three more DS/Wii games in development.
Gamelions debut WiiWare title, Furry Legends, will be an action and platform game.
Starring bouncy lead characters described as furry balls, the developer hopes the blend full 3D graphics with 2D gameplay will appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers.
Were all very excited about this project. Its our first step into WiiWare, and were committed to debut with a very polished, high-quality title, said Łukasz Szczepański, the games producer.
Furry Legends will be released for Nintendo Wii in the first half of 2009.
