Well, weve covered the previous rumours of impending new iPhone rumours, so we might as well forward this one to you, as well.
As happened previously, devs have been snooping through the new iPhone 3.0 SDK, and uncovered references to iPhone models that dont appear to exist yet. This happened previously, when the 2.1 model was referred to, buried deep within a firmware update, only this time were seeing six unidentified hardware references.
The code extract apparently mentions the iPhone 2.1 again, the iProd 0.1, iPod 2.2, iPhone 3.1, iFPGA and iPod 3.1. Itd take someone with a far better understanding of firmware development to explain why these references have been made (alongside identifiable codes for currently available models, we should add) but its still mildly exciting stuff.
Another rumour comes from within Korean electronics giant, LG. Apparently, Apple has placed an advanced $500 million order for a massive batch of OLED screens - complete with a special coating to reduce fingerprints.
In many ways its obvious that Apple is going to be working on new iPhone and iPod touch models, but its still fun to speculate about them from time to time.
