Not content to glory in the GalaxyTab, Samsung has revealed it's planning further Android powered tablets; the next device set to launch in 2011 running the yet to be released Honeycomb OS.
The revelation was made by Samsung's head of planning WP Hong, with TechRadar reporting he also confirmed that Galaxy Tab - while launching with Android 2.2 (Froyo) - will eventually run Android 3.0, otherwise known as Gingerbread.
Upgrading Android
"The next platform we'll be using [on Galaxy Tab] will be Gingerbread," stated Hong during IFA 2010.
"Depending on our international partners, we'll be working to upgrade from Froyo to Gingerbread.
"Moving forward, with Honeycomb, that will be used in the next generation tablet, as it [Honeycomb] is specifically optimised for different type of tablet, and will be used on another product only."
Hong's comments mark the first time a manufacturer has publicly referred to Honeycomb, with little yet known about Google's intentions for the new flavour of Android.
However, with his assertion that the OS is optimised for a different type of tablet, it would appear any further releases from Samsung may well be radically different that the Galaxy Tab.
