It's not hard to make the mental leap between E.B. the rabbit star of Universal's forthcoming animated film Hop and Doodle Jump's Doodle the Doodler, given both spend an exorbitant amount of time leaping great distances into the air.
As such, a licensing deal between developer Lima Sky on one side and Universal and Illumination Entertainment on the other to employ Hop's star in a bonus Doodle Jump level seems logical.
No great leap
Set to make its debut in February, the new Easter themed level allowing players to play the game as E.B. - will be delivered via an update.
"We are honoured to be affiliated with this amazing film and accomplished studio," said Lima Sky president Igor Pusenjak.
"Knowing that a project like this has never been done before adds an extra level of pride to the new ground well break together.
"To have Doodle Jump involved with the launch of a major motion picture demonstrates how influential apps have become in just a few short years."
On the hop?
The agreement with Universal isn't the first such deal Lima Sky has spliced, however.
Back in 2009, Pocket God developer Bolt Creative signed an agreement that enabled the studio to splice elements of Doodle Jump-style play into the game.
