Japanese game publisher Namco Bandai (TYO:7832) has announced its FY11 financial figures for the 12 months ending March 31.
Net sales were ¥394 billion (around $4.9 billion), up 4.1 percent year-on-year.
Net income was ¥1.8 billion ($22 million), compared to a loss of ¥30 billion a year ago.
The mobile angle
Namco Bandai doesn't break out its mobile business, filing the figures within its home video game software category.
However it does detail what it calls mobile pay subscriber numbers (Japanese-only).
At the end of its financial year, the total was 2.29 million, down 18 percent compared to 12 months ago.
Across its entire mobile subscriber business (games, character, sound, and other), the total was 3.34 million, down 14 percent year-on-year.
3DS push
In terms of its wider handheld business, Namco Bandai remains committed to all Sony and Nintendo platforms.
It sold 4.5 million PSP games, including 400,000 copies each of God Eater Burst and AKB 1/48 in Japan, (from 29 releases), 4 million DS games (30 releases), and 300,000 3DS games (3 releases) during its FY11.
In FY12, it plans to sell 4.2 million PSP games across 25 releases, 2.1 million DS games across 14 releases, and 1.9 million 3DS games across 17 releases.
