The name of Sony's PSP successor might still be up in the air, but the middleware that's set to power the games that feature on it is falling into place.
Trinigy, which first revealed it would add support for NGP to its Vision Game Engine back in February, has today made good on its promise, offering developers who sign up now "early adopter pricing" schemes.
Next-generation engine
The engine itself supports multiple formats including Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 and Windows but the company claims the NGP version has been optimised to make the most of Sony's handheld.
"With the Vision Game Engine, developing a graphically rich, highly immersive game for NGP is no different than building a game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, or PC," said MD Dag Frommhold.
"Because of the Vision Game Engine's flexibility, developers can use the same tools environment, the same asset types, the same game code, and many of the same graphical effects, which is an incredible advantage in an environment with so many different development platforms."
The Vision Game Engine SDK for NGP is available now. Further details on pricing can be found on the firm's website.
