When talking about developers expanding and moving into new office space, it's a standard journalistic technique to label them 'ambitious'.
In the case of Dundee-based Tag Games, however, I'm not sure the term's sufficient to describe the company's trajectory. After all, I remember when the team consisted of five guys in a Dickensian garret.
But that was back in 2007, and in mid-2011, on the back of a move to the Seabraes building into Dundee's Digital Media, CEO Paul Farley is predicting the company will be staffing up to 50 people in the coming months.
"Tag Games is proud to be a part of a resurgent Scottish games industry. This studio expansion reaffirms our commitment to Dundee and Scotland and sets us up for strong future growth, both at home and abroad," he said.
All the fun of the fair
Following non-games work for companies such as BBC Worldwide, Channel 4 and Virgin Atlantic under the Tag Apps brand, Tag is also working on its own Tagplay titles such as the anticipated sequel to the 1.6 million downloaded Car Jack Streets, as well as its first freemium release Funpark Friends, due 1 October.
"We're building on success generated by quality of service and absolute expertise in execution, and are confident this expansion is only the first step in becoming the UK's leading mobile games and application developer," added head of business development Simon Adams.
