The holidays are just around the corner and the iOS charts are freezing too.
Whilst the likes of EA and Gameloft will be challenging for the top spots with the usual array of game sales, currently the number two position in the top free app charts is held by 6waves Lolapps's first title Yeti Town.
The game itself is a snowy-themed matching puzzler from Texan outfit Escalation Studios, with a wintry wink towards Bejeweled.
It's free to download and supports virtual currency, purchasable with real money.
Let it snow
"We're very excited to see the performance of the game and it shows that we can launch a successful mobile game," said Jim Ying, senior vice president of publishing at 6waves Lolapps.
"We believe the same users on Facebook are also using smartphones and this is a logical extension."
The game came out without fanfare on Tuesday 20 December, the first of many titles expected to come from the 6waves Lolapps merger.
Speaking with VentureBeat, Ying claimed 35 titles are lined up for release in 2012.
