Lithuanian developer Outlander Studios gains a year of funding from HackFwd

Time to finish Android RTS Equilibrium

Lithuanian developer Outlander Studios gains a year of funding from HackFwd
Outlander Studios, currently hard at work on Android 3D real-time strategy game Equilibrium, has gained funding from pre-seed investor HackFwd.

As with its typical deal, it provides a year of funding, taking 27 percent of equity in return.

The funding will enable Outlander to commercialise its game, with the company's co-founder Kestutis Tauckela also highlighting the need to strengthen its business.

HackFwd has helped Outlander to isolate 78 tasks to complete in the months ahead, 80 percent of those being focused on business development.

Business and pleasure

"Our to do list is roughly six months long and having HackFwd's funding for a whole year - we have a very real opportunity to enhance our game up to world-class level." said Kestutis Tauckela, who made Equilibrium a full-time project after the folding of previous employer RealTime Worlds.

"Having an awesome game is very important for players, but to have a successful business - there are many more things to think about than just the game.

"Besides development of our project, we invest into building a proper company. Everyone on our team loves to come to work every day and that is by design.

"I personally believe having a strategic plan of how to make exceptional people gravitate towards your company is no less important than having features or bugs-to-fix lists."
