Sony's S tablet may not have set the world alight over the holiday period, as Sony admits that it may not have sold as many units as the BlackBerry PlayBook, which had its price slashed to help shift surplus stock.
However, Sony does maintain that its tablets lead the Android tablet market share in terms of value, with a 26 percent share.
Domination
Sony's two tablets on offer are the S and the P, with the former being the cheaper, clamshell device.
The S tablet, with its noticeable wedge shape, is the more dominant of the two in terms of sales, retailing for similar prices to Samsung's Galaxy Tab.
Actual sales figures weren't made public, though The Telegraph reports that, unsurprisingly, Apple's iPad 'continues to dominate the tablet market overall'.
In October 2011 Sony rolled out the PlayStation Store on its S tablet in Europe and the US, with a back catalogue of 10 PlayStation games available on the PlayStation Certified device.
