The event itself won't be kicking off until October but IndieCade 2012 is now open for submissions, via the IndieCade website.
So if you are an independent game developer looking to give your title visibility then perhaps you'd better get involved.
It doesn't matter if your game isn't quite finished either, as works-in-progress aren't only allowed, they're encouraged.
Mission possible
"Our mission is to spotlight the best cutting-edge work and the most innovative game designs - often thriving at the fringes of the game industry," said CEO of IndieCade Stephanie Barish.
"Our goal is to bring public as well as industry attention to exciting, innovative games, created by independent developers."
Titles chosen from those submitted will feature on the IndieCade website itself, while also being promoted through social media. That's on top of being showcased at the event, due to take place between 4-7 October in Downtown Culver City in Los Angeles.

12 chosen finalists will also be eligible for awards to be dished out at a formal ceremony during the event. Should you find yourself in the glamorous position of a selected finalist you will also be given VIP access to the event.
All those developers who do submit will also be given access to IndieXchange, a one day event offering "practical workshops, networking opportunities and one-on-one meetings with art leaders, publishers and potential funders."
