Barcelona-based visual recognition outfit Catchoom has completed its first funding round.
It raised 600,000 from Spanish investment group Inveready Group.
The company, which was spun out of R&D work at mobile operator Telefónica, is already integrated into augmented reality platforms such as Layar and Metaio's Junaio technology.
To-date, it's being used in over two million smartphone apps.
Looking good
Catchoom has also been awarded Best AR Startup Award at the Augmented Reality Event in the US.
"This award is of special relevance for us because it was given by a jury composed of experts in Augmented Reality, which are our potential clients, and Venture Capital firms in Silicon Valley who could be our future investors," commented CEO David Marimon.
