PlayPhone's Social Gaming Network enjoyed a 400 percent growth rate in the first six months of 2012 according to stats released by the mobile social specialist.
As a result, PlayPhone claims the platform on track to top 100 million users by the end of the year.
What's another year?
Indeed, the firm claims network stats have "experienced a steep surge" across the board, largely thanks to what it claims is an "increased level of developer support."
"2012 has been a banner year for the PlayPhone Social Gaming Network (SGN) to date, and we expect our growth to continue to accelerate during the back half of the year, reaching the number-one status in North America by year-end," said founder and CEO Ron Czerny.
"By strategically focusing our efforts on the North American market, where we expect approximately 60 percent of mobile commerce to commence, PlayPhone is well positioned to provide developers access to a large, increasingly engaged gaming community across all mobile devices."
The numbers game
Of course, PlayPhone - which supports Android, iOS, HTML5, Adobe AIR, Unity, and Windows Phone 7 - faces increased competition from numerous big players in the mobile social platform scene, but the company claims its own offering has enjoyed nothing but growth so far.
In all, users have amassed what the firm states is a record 12 million game sessions during the first six months of the year, with 3.5 million gameplay hours notched up as a result.
SGN has also scored its first top 20 hit on Google Play thanks to third-party effort Assaulter and Metal Slugs.
A total of more than 3,000 studios have now signed up to serve up games for SGN, with the platform having passed the 150 games mark back in May.
