Game Connection Europe 2012 set to honour mobile marketing masters
Game Connection's conferences have recognised the achievements of developers through the Selected Projects program for six years.

Now, event organisers are looking to reward excellence in marketing too.

As such, it's been announced that Game Connection Europe 2012 will play host to the inaugural Game Connection Marketing Awards.

Open to all

The awards are open to anyone working in video game marketing and communications, and are comprised of seven separate categories – including Best Social Media Strategy, Best Digital Campaign and Best Mobile Campaign, a category that can include promotional apps and games.

Whether independent, agency-based, or in-house with a developer or publisher, any game marketer can submit a campaign for consideration across as many categories as are applicable.

Any campaign submitted for the seven main categories is also automatically entered for an eighth category – 'Best Video Game Marketing Team 2012.'

Of course, the Best Mobile Campaign award will seem of particular relevance to many mobile marketers, but the mobile industry's social savvy – as shown in a recent PocketGamer.biz inforgraphic – could see it pick up the Best Social Media Strategy gong, too.

Judgemental

The awards will be judged by an advisory board of industry experts, and will take place as part of the Game Connection Europe 2012 conference that runs from 28-30 November in Paris.

In fact, the introduction of the Game Marketing Awards is just one part of the expansion of Game Connection's remit to include the marketing side of the industry. As such, the forthcoming conference's program will cater to games marketers more than ever before.

Game Connection is accepting submissions for its marketing awards now, and will continue to do so until 11 October.
