Ad-funded mobile games firm Greystripe has launched an innovative new distribution scheme via something it calls the Game Download Widget.
It's basically a link that people can add to their WAP sites, offering visitors a free daily game from Greystripe's catalogue.
The company will share advertising revenues with the owner of the site, and although Greystripe hasn't given specific details of how much, it claims that the widget will generate "ongoing revenue share that can exceed current CPC rates".
(That's Costs Per Click, by the way).
Greystripe hopes the widget will catch on with WAP site owners, particularly as it doesn't take users away from their sites.
The Game Download Widget has just launched as a beta programme, with a registration form here for the first 50 companies.
