Having undertaken a soft launch back in January, social game network Scoreloop has now officially lifted the lid on Go Android its partnership project designed to aid developers looking to port iOS titles to Android.
The idea is to simplify the process as a whole, with Scoreloop aiding studios deal with porting costs, as well as providing both business advice and market intelligence.
In the Android loop
The trade off is that the games in question are released onto Android using Scoreloop's network, helping accelerate the platform's expansion on Google's OS.
"We launched the Go Android program earlier this year to help developers who dont have the time to deal with the development, legal, admin and market experience necessary to launch on a new platform," said CEO Marc Gumpinger.
"We're providing real value for developers, not just funds. Navigating the Android ecosystem isnt a simple task and we want to be there for developers through the whole process."
Port wars
Scoreloop claims launch partners Geared and Toobz both of which joined the program during its soft launch will hit Android Market next week.
Both games will also come equipped with cross-platform play, enabling Android gamers to take on those playing on iOS.
The move, however, follows on from a similar initiative launched by rival OpenFeint.
In conjunction with The9, the firm is also looking to aid developers port games to Android, suggesting both game networks are keen to spread their base on Google's OS as quickly as possible.
Developers interested in applying to join Go Android can sign up on Scoreloop's website.
