Mobile publisher Gameloft (GFT.PA) has announced its sales figures for the three months ending June 30.
Q2 sales were up 15 percent year-on-year to 33.6 million ($44 million).
This compared with 33 million ($43 million) during the first three months of 2010, giving a half year total of 66.6 million ($87.1 million). This is up 11 percent year-on-year.
The European and North America markets each represented 34 percent of Q2 sales while the rest of the world accounted for the remaining 32 percent.
Future's ideal
The company said in a statement it had increased market share on the declining Java and Brew markets, and the growing smartphone market with iPhone and iPad sales increased 113 percent during Q2.
As well as releasing new titles such as Splinter Cell: Conviction and Zombie Infection during the period, Gameloft has also been experimenting driving sales with regular price cuts and free promotions.
"Gameloft is expecting continued growth in 2010 in terms of revenue and profitability. In the longer term, Gameloft appears in an ideal position to benefit from the rapid emergence of the digital distribution of video games on mobile phones, tablets and consoles, as well as from major technological innovations brought to the market," it said.
The group's consolidated half-year results will be published on August 31.
