It's already been described as dated by some commentators, but a leaked roadmap for the Windows Phone platform suggests Microsoft plans to deliver two major updates before the end of the year.
The roadmap, which was obtained by WMPoweruser, suggests the next major update dubbed Tango is due to roll out in Q2 2012, largely as expected.
More interesting, however, is the suggestion its successor will follow two quarters later.
Blast off
Apollo - as it's been billed - is pencilled in for a Q4 2012 debut, with the document pointing to the launch of what is described as "competitive superphones" at the same time.
It's expected Apollo will be built to run on dual-core devices equipped with HD screens, with the business sector also cited as a focus.
Though the date of the document itself is not known, it suggests Microsoft expects to have amassed a respectable consumer base by that time, with the launch of the first Nokia devices in November 2011 the means to that end.
