Qualcomm is preparing to make a big splash at Computex 2010, with the firm showcasing its latest range of products based on its Snapdragon chipset.
The company says it will be demonstrating a range of Snapdragon-powered devices including Acer's Liquid and neoTouch smartphones, Dell's Streak 5 Android tablet, HTC's Droid, Google's Nexus One and Lenovo's LePhone smartphone all illustrating the acceptance the technology has made in recent months.
It's also announced it has sampled the first versions of its dual-core Snapdragon chipsets, which integrate two of the company's enhanced cores running at up to 1.2GHz.
These solutions are third-generation chipsets designed for smartphones, tablets and smartbook devices and supporting 24-bit WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution displays.
Future Snapdragon dual-core CPUs will be rated at 1.5 GHz.
Snapping up the market
"We are enabling a wide array of smartphones, e-readers, pocket tablets and smartbooks," says senior VP of marketing and product management Luis Pineda.
"With our newly expanded product family, Qualcomm is continuing to deliver an unsurpassed combination of mobile processing, connectivity and multimedia with optimised power consumption."
The big expose marks Qualcomm's desire to incorporate Snapdragon in a wide array of products, with the firm claiming the chipset is already at work in 140 devices either launched or currently in design.
