No-one could accuse Stonetrip of failing to reach out to the community.
Following on from its decision to offer Torque Engine developers a discount on its ShiVa3D engine, the company has now unveiled an inaugural set of awards.
The awards are designed to reward games that make best use of ShiVa3D, with accolades across seven categories up for grabs.
Gaming glory
"We want to celebrate the creativity, games design and programming skills of our developers," said company CEO Philip Belhassen.
"We know there are some amazing games being developed using ShiVa3D and this is one way in which we can give them the recognition they deserve.
"We hope our awards will be a prestigious endorsement of the effort and talent that goes into developing 3D cross-platform games."
The roster includes awards for best gameplay, best graphics, best cross-platform game, best mobile-based game, best browser based game and somewhat mysteriously - best serious game.
There will also be a best overall game category, the winner of which will be chosen directly by a judging panel.
Final countdown
Licensed ShiVa3D developers have until January 31 to submit their games in any of the first six categories by visiting Stonetrip's website, with said panel compiling a shortlist of finalists.
Only games released between January 1 2010 and January 31 2011 are eligible.
The winners, who will receive a certificate and a bespoke ShiVa3D trophy, will be announced on March 2 at GDC.
