Samsung might be leading the line when it comes to Android, but HTC (TPE:2498) is managing to foster a fair amount of success of its own, with sales more than doubling year on year in May.
In a statement to Reuters, HTC pegged consolidated sales for the month at T$40.62 billion around $1.42 billion.
On the up and up
That's up from the T$18.82 billion ($65.56 million) posted during May 2010, and also up from April 2011's figure of T$38.73 billion ($1.35 billion).
Though no details were given regarding the reasons behind the sales surge, HTC has enjoyed much success with its Android range, and has been a rather vocal backer of Windows Phone 7 since the OS launched last year.
The company already has several handsets running Microsoft's platform on the market, with the covers having been (unofficially) lifted off its next Windows Phone device the Mango powered, 12MP camera equipped Mazaa.
