Nokia Store generating 11 million downloads a day as 177 developers pass million mark
Thanks to its steady dominance of emerging mobile markets, Nokia's Symbian has managed to remain on top of the worldwide OS market share throughout 2011.

Now, figures released by the Finnish manufacturer indicate that its primarily Symbian-based Nokia Store has passed 11 million daily downloads, with 177 developers in all having passed the million download mark.

Delivered via the firm's developer website, Nokia claimed its top market for downloads by some distance is India, where the most popular category is games.

Following behind are China, Russia, Brazil and Turkey, where general apps were the most popular titles on offer.





Nokia also provided a list of the top devices for downloads, with the N8-00 coming up trumps, followed by the 5800 XPRESSMUSIC, the 5233, the 5230 and the C3-00.
Facebook Chat took the top spot for most used app, with eBuddy Messenger Free, WhatsApp Messenger, High Speed 3D Free and Skype propping it up.
