Swiss-based capital investment firm Digital Capital has announced a partnership with industry veteran Jason Schreiber.
It's the first announcement from its new mobile games development fund.
The two companies have come together to launch a new company called Digital Power Entertainment, and based in Dublin, Ireland set up with the express intention of creating new IP for the digital market.
A year to go
According to the company's roadmap, the first game to emerge from the partnership should hit digital platforms in early 2013.
"We are so excited by the creative vision of Jason's new idea," said head or product development at Digital Capital Stewart Kosoy.
"His idea manages to combine an easy to grasp concept with some very neat, new thoughts on features and innovative ideas for engaging players. Other than that my lips are sealed."
Partner power
Schreiber currently serves as CEO at New York-based Powerhead Game.
Its most recent game is iOS puzzler, ASYNC Corp, which is in the running for two Pocket Gamer awards.
"It's awesome to be partnered with Digital Capital in this new company to create our own IP," said Schreiber.
"In the last few years, there's been a major realignment in the way games are made, marketed, and distributed. And I think Digital Capital has the right approach to working directly with developers, funding great ideas and simplifying this whole process."
His new role won't impact on his existing position, however.
Schreiber claims Powerhead is to be "awarded a contract to fulfill a large part of the development work for Digital Power Entertainment", working closely both in terms of the development and launch of the game in question.
