There are now plenty of monetisation options available for mobile developers.
But unless you're a large studio, the time and resources required to experiment with them all is often prohibitive. That's why there's a trend for platforms and networks to integrate their technologies.
One such deal sees PlayHaven, which offers a real-time platform of monetisation options ranging from adverts, cross promotions and to virtual currency deals, is hooking up with GameSalad.
Ground level up
Offering drag-and-drop tools for 2D game development on iOS, Android and HTML5, GameSalad's users are a mixture of first timers and seasoned veterans who want to make games quickly.
And that's a big audience, now 350,000-strong.
The first fruits of the integration have already been running for some time, and PlayHaven says that eCPMs experienced are up to eight times higher than that of competing mobile services.
Gimme more
So the push is now to roll out PlayHaven's more sophisticated options.
"Through our partnership, PlayHaven will bring additional revenue opportunities to GameSalad's growing community," said its CEO Andy Yang.
"We're excited to bring PlayHaven's successful monetisation and engagement tools to the GameSalad community," added Steve Felter, GameSalad's CEO.
"The challenge in our industry is to find ways for developers to maximise the value of free-to-play games and PlayHaven provides a simple and effective way for our developers to do just that."
