It's no over generalisation to say the vast majority of social games are set in placid settings: running a farm or building up a city some of the most notable examples.
Suda 51, however, is determined to bring a more brutal edge to the genre, promising to create the 'bloodiest social game ever' following his deal with social gaming powerhouse DeNA.
Blood battles
As part of the deal, Suda has joined a collective of development talent (including Yuji Naka, Keiji Inafune, Yoshifumi Hashimoto and Noritaka Funamizu) designed to create original titles for DeNA's Mobage platform in the coming months and years.
Suda - otherwise known as Goichi Suda - has already revealed his first release would be a new chapter in the No More Heroes series, with violence naturally having a prominent role to play.
However, as spotted by Famitsu, he's not holding back on that score, promising to raise the bar and deliver a title packed with assassins and lashing of spilt blood.
"We're aiming to make it the social game with the most blood," said Suda of the release.
There's more of Suda 51's particular brand of social play to come, too. He's claimed to have "around 100 social game concepts" ready to go, with DeNA's Mobage the beneficiary.
