The autumn is going to be a busy time for new mobile operating systems.
RIM's releasing its first BlackBerry 6 devices, the Nokia N8 will be the first Symbian^3 smartphone plus there's Microsoft's epic reboot in the shape of Windows Phone 7.
The company, and its OEM partners, are still being fairly quiet in terms of consumer presence but there's obviously a lot of work going on behind the scenes.
Countdown
Indeed, on the Windows Team blog, director of its mobile communications business, Aaron Woodman, has revealed some details of the launch.
During initial availability, Windows Phone 7 will support five languages; English, French, Italian, German and Spanish, he says.
In terms of launching the Windows Phone Marketplace, that will come to 17 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, UK and United States.
