Mobile technology is on the cusp of revolution. A small collection of powerful new chipsets in the shape of Qualcomm's Snapdragon and Nvidia's Tegra products are due to overhaul smartphones.
It seems low-powered chip designer ARM is also getting in on the next gen smartphone business, and has established what it's calling an Android Solutions Center.
VentureBeat reports that ARM is pioneering a new collection of silicon slab tools that will make it a simple, effortless process for hardware manufacturers to build high-powered Android devices around ARM architecture.
"A lot of devices are in development and we are confident this move will accelerate that," explains James Bruce, mobile segment manager for ARM. 35 companies have already signed up to the group to share resources and expertise, with a new range of powerful Android devices expected as soon as next year.
